Mending Moon Tattoo is a queer owned, fully licensed private tattoo studio in Blue HIll, Maine, open by appointment only. My drawings are always inspired by the natural world. I create designs that portray creatures and plants as they are, and how they interact with Earth’s energies and with us. My drawing style is organic and free flowing. My favorite beings to tattoo are birds—I just love the way that wings can hug the body. I enjoy tattooing almost all animals, plants, depictions of energy, portals, and things that foster energetic healing. Please take a look at the tattoos that I’ve shared on instagram or on my website to make sure that I’m the right artist for you. If you have a design in mind, I’m happy to consider it, but please know that I may not feel called to do it, and I will honor that truth. Below are the three types of tattooing sessions that I offer.

Energy Reading Session

I am a conduit for Source energy—which means that I channel Earth/Source energies into my body and transmute them into healing energy that I pass on to you through the tattoo. During these sessions, the elements of the design are brought forth through a meditation that connects you to Source energy. In this connective space, Source is able to pass on energetic information for you that’s relevant to your current life. These tattoos carry a great deal of energy and capabilities. By nature, they meet you where you are and offer something that you need. They are intended for you only, and have been waiting to be received. Please be advised that these tattoos are meant to hold space for you, and thus, need to have space to become their true forms. I’m always happy to work with you on sizing. However, if you’re looking for a very small tattoo, a custom design may be a better fit. I invite you to be open to sizing, placement and form when inquiring about these designs. I don’t choose anything for you, I simply tell you what I see. Trusting the process is part of the magic! That being said, if you don‘t want to have what I see for you tattooed, that is absolutely okay! There is no pressure to move forward with it if you choose not to. Through the nature of this work, I can’t look again to find something different for you as that’s not the way this works. If you have done an energy reading tattoo with me before and feel called to again, you absolutely can! A different design will be given because you are in a different place in your life. These designs are timing specific. A consultation is required to find the design elements, so I have time to to sketch and draw the final design before your tattoo appointment. This can be in person if you’re local, or over the phone if you’re not. This technique is something that I’m still exploring, so I will change and improve this offering as I go. The trust of allowing me to see and feel such a personal energetic space is something that I cherish and treat with the utmost honor.

Flash Tattoo

Flash are pre-drawn designs that I regularly release on my instagram highlights and in my portfolio on my website. I don’t change anything about this designs, except in very select cases—they are tattooed as is. These designs are a great option if you’re looking for something that your artist really excels at or is excited to create. For me, flash designs come to me at any time, in a complete image. I have to rush to the nearest pencil and paper to ensure I don’t lose any details that come through. I feel that each design I create is intended for one person, whenever they come along to claim it. If you feel particularly drawn to a design, there’s probably a reason!

Custom Tattoo

If you already have a concept/vision in mind, then a custom tattoo is right for you! With a custom tattoo, I use the information and inspiration that you give me to create an original design for you, to your specifications. I will send you a sketch sometime before your appointment For you to review. This is where we can make any changes necessary for you to feel completely confident in the design. After this, I refine the sketch to give you an idea of how the tattoo will be shaded. I do my custom tattoos this way to avoid making big changes on the day of the tattoo, and so that neither of us feel rushed or pressured. Please note: I’m not a big fan of tattooing other people’s art. I will bend this rule periodically if I feel like the design fits within my style and is of some significance to you, a dear friend’s original artwork for example. That being said, I would always rather complete the tattoo myself, from beginning to end. I will not accept anything with AI—do not send me any AI generated images! Real inspiration only please.
