I started Mending Moon to satisfy a yearning that I held for connective tattoo work. I longed for a buzz of energy to fill my soulful body through this sacred art and I found that traditional shops and their traditions stemming from tattoo colonization were not going to feed my soul. This is not a dis on the broader tattoo community; however, that community is not for everyone. If you are looking for a more meaningful, intentional tattoo experience, my practice is for you.
As a client, I wanted to feel valued in tattoo studios. I wanted to be listened to and respected. I wanted the permanent art going on my body to be more important that the money or how long I was there for. These desires were not met, and unfortunately I am not alone in this experience. Changing this narrative and offering a deeper, soulful experience is the backbone of Mending Moon.
I've been an artist for as long as I can remember, and I've been fascinated by tattooing for almost as long. I am honored to do this work, and I'm so grateful to the people who trust me with this intuitive connection through ink.
